I’ve never been to the Beacon Theatre before. Where is the Beacon Theatre located?
The Beacon Theatre is located at 401 N. Main Street, Hopewell, VA 23860

Where can I park when coming to the Beacon?
There is plenty of FREE parking all around the Beacon Theatre. – A small parking lot at Main Street & Route 10 (between the Beacon and First Baptist Church). – Street parking is available all over the downtown area. – There are 2 larger parking lots by the library at Cawson Street & Library Street – There is a parking lot behind City Hall (across Route 10 from the Beacon).

What is the Orchestra Pit?
The Orchestra Pit is an area at the base of the stage that holds 10-12 seats or up to 30 when standing room. Seating within the Orchestra Pit is general admission and first come/first served. YOU MAY NOT HOLD SEATS FOR THOSE IN YOUR PARTY WHO HAVE NOT ARRIVED AT THE VENUE. Repeat: Seating within the Orchestra Pit is general admission and first come/first served.

Are food and beverages available for purchase inside the Beacon?
Yes, the Beacon has beer, wine, spirits, sodas, water, juices, candy, popcorn, chips, and other snacks available for purchase. Food & beverages purchased at the Beacon may be brought into the theatre.

May I bring in outside food or beverages inside the Beacon?
No, outside food and beverages MAY NOT be brought inside the Beacon Theatre. This restriction includes water bottles of ANY KIND FOR ANY REASON.
No exceptions. Patrons have only 2 options when confronted about possessing outside food or beverage:
1) discard these items into the nearest trash receptacle, or
2) leave the building.

No beer, wine, spirits, or alcoholic product of any kind may be brought inside the Beacon Theatre. PERIOD! This is a violation of Commonwealth of Virginia law and will not be tolerated to any degree (the Beacon Theatre will not risk its ABC license for anyone). Any person found in possession of any alcoholic beverage (regardless of how much or how little) that was not legally purchased at a Beacon Theatre concessions area will be dismissed from the Beacon Theatre, turned over to legal authorities, and banned from the Beacon Theatre.

Don’t do it, it is not worth the risk.

Will security tell the people in the next row who are standing/dancing and blocking my view to please sit down?
No. The Beacon Theatre allows patrons to enjoy their concert experience as they feel comfortable (as long as they are at their seats). We do ask that all patrons be mindful of those who are also enjoying the concert, however, Beacon security will never tell someone who is dancing/standing at their seat to sit down.

Now, with-that-being-said…

Please keep any-and-all talking to a minimum during the performance. If you wish to have a conversation with your friends/loved ones, please exit the theatre and chat in the lobby/concession areas. The patrons around you paid to hear the artists on stage; nobody paid to hear you talk. Security WILL ask any patron to leave the theatre who continues to disrupt the atmosphere of the concert with disruptive conversation.

This shouldn’t need to be said because it goes without saying; UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO PUT YOUR HANDS ON ANOTHER PATRON NOR ARE YOU TO PERSONALLY CONFRONT ANOTHER PATRON! PERIOD! The Beacon Theatre has a zero tolerance for this behavior. Any patron who inappropriately touches/harms another patron will be removed from the venue by security and if necessary, turned over to the proper authorities.

I purchased tickets through a re-sale site. Are my tickets good?
Honestly, if you did not purchase your tickets through the Beacon box office or through our ONLY legitimate ticketing agent, ticketstobuy.com, we don’t know whether you have purchased legitimate tickets or whether you have been scammed. We can tell you for certain, regardless, you spent too much.

We can also tell you that the Beacon Theatre is not responsible. If your tickets are fake or if your tickets were sold multiple times, if the tickets you present are illegitimate, you bear 100% of the responsibility. The Beacon Theatre is under no obligation to admit you if you possess illegitimate tickets.

Do not respond to those who post on Facebook that they have “extra tickets for sale” or “purchased tickets and now can’t go”, these are scammers who don’t possess tickets, they only seek to steal your money.

Do not click on Stub Hub, Seatgeek, Ticket Center or any other ads promoting The Beacon Theatre Hopewell shows…these are people reselling our tickets much higher than face value.

May I smoke inside the Beacon Theatre? 
NO! The Beacon Theatre is an ASBSOLUTE SMOKE FREE venue (and this includes vaping). Anyone caught smoking or vaping at any location inside the Beacon Theatre (BATHROOMS INCLUDED) will be immediately escorted from the venue without refund.

There is a smoking area located outside the main concession lobby/box office on the first floor.
